Strengthening Social Wellbeing in Our Region, How You Can Get Involved!

Health isn’t just physical, it’s deeply social. In the early weeks of 2026, when the busy festive season quiets and routines return, making connections with others can be just as important to our wellbeing as eating well and staying active.

Across Logan, Redlands and the Scenic Rim, there are many ways to build connection and support your mental and emotional health while meeting people in your neighbourhood. Logan City Council’s Active & Healthy program offers gentle group activities like aqua aerobics, walking groups and belly dancing, helping people stay active and connected  at the same time.

In Redlands, Community Bushcare groups bring volunteers together to restore local nature reserves, combining purposeful activity with social connection in the outdoors.

Scenic Rim residents can join free community events such as Cuppa in the Communi-tea or Movies in the Park, which provide relaxed settings to meet neighbours and feel part of something bigger.

Whether you’re looking to volunteer, join a club, or simply enjoy a shared interest, there’s a welcoming group waiting nearby, and fostering those connections can be one of the healthiest choices you make this year.
