Seniors Encouraged to Claim Queensland Energy Rebate Support

Local seniors across Logan, Beenleigh and Beaudesert are being reminded to check their eligibility for Queensland’s electricity rebates as cost-of-living pressures continue to impact households.

The Queensland Government Electricity Rebate provides ongoing support to eligible pensioners and seniors holding a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card. The rebate is automatically applied to electricity bills for most eligible customers, helping to ease rising energy costs, particularly important for retirees on fixed incomes.

Community advocates say many seniors are unaware they may qualify, especially those who have recently transitioned into retirement or changed electricity providers. Residents in regional and semi-rural areas such as the Scenic Rim and Logan Village are being encouraged to confirm their details are up to date with their retailer.

With winter approaching later in the year and heating costs set to rise, ensuring rebates are active could make a meaningful difference to household budgets.

Seniors can contact their electricity provider or visit the Queensland Government website to confirm eligibility.
