Opening of Renovated Beenleigh Aquatic Centre Pushes Back, Community Waits in Anticipation

The long-awaited reopening of the newly upgraded Beenleigh Aquatic Centre has been delayed, much to the disappointment of families, fitness lovers and local swim clubs across the Logan-Beenleigh area. Originally scheduled to welcome the community with a grand launch this month, recent weather interruptions have forced Logan City Council to postpone the event and push back the official opening date, which is now yet to be confirmed.

The $24.7 million redevelopment transforms the 60-year-old outdoor pool into a modern aquatic hub, featuring a 50-metre heated pool, expanded children’s water play area, shaded seating, upgraded changerooms, a kiosk, accessible ramps and multipurpose spaces.

Despite the delay, the centre’s indoor pool continues to host regular lessons and aqua-aerobics, and council says registered attendees for the opening will be notified with new details once confirmed.
