Crisafulli Government Extends Burleigh Heads Late Night Support Service Pilot

The Crisafulli Government has committed an additional **$249,122 to extend the Late Night Support Service (LNSS) pilot in Burleigh Heads, reinforcing public safety on the southern Gold Coast. This follows the success of the community‑led initiative, which launched in November last year as part of a $1 million election commitment to improve safety and address alcohol‑related harm.

Since its commencement, more than 7,600 people have engaged with the service, which offers first aid, supervision and urgent welfare support on Friday and Saturday nights. During this period, the LNSS treated 166 people for intoxication or medical needs, assisted safe release to family or friends, and provided direct referrals from local police.

The extended pilot will operate until 4 April 2027, covering peak seasonal periods and major events such as Schoolies, while an evaluation of the program continues. The service runs from Justins Park, Friday and Saturday evenings, 10 pm–2 am.
