Man Charged After Vehicle Break-Ins Across Logan

Police have charged an 18-year-old man following investigations into a series of alleged break and enter offences across Shailer Park and Daisy Hill over the weekend.

Officers allege the incidents occurred overnight between May 18 and 19, with four vehicles targeted at homes along Oringa Street in Shailer Park, and Lynette Way and Brentwood Drive in Daisy Hill.

Police claim a number of items were stolen from the vehicles, including laptops and electronic tablets.

After receiving reports of the break-ins, officers attended the area and allegedly located the suspect nearby riding a motorcycle reported stolen from South Brisbane last month.

An 18-year-old Marsden man has since been charged with four counts of enter premises and commit offence by break, along with one count of unlawful use of a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear before Beenleigh Magistrates Court on June 23.

The investigation forms part of Operation Yankee Forge, a statewide initiative targeting property crime, unlawful entry and vehicle theft offences.

Logan Police are reminding residents to secure homes, vehicles and keys at all times, urging the community to make good security habits part of everyday life to help prevent opportunistic crime.
