Police are investigating a serious traffic crash involving a car and bicycle at Beenleigh on Wednesday evening, May 21.
Emergency services were called to the intersection of George Street and Main Street about 6.38pm following reports a grey Mitsubishi had collided with a bicycle.
The cyclist, a 36-year-old man, suffered serious injuries in the crash. Paramedics treated him at the scene before he was transported to Princess Alexandra Hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the Mitsubishi, a 33-year-old woman, was not physically injured and is assisting police with inquiries.
The intersection was attended by police as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the collision began. Officers are working to determine how the crash occurred and whether any other factors contributed to the incident.
Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant dashcam footage from the area around the time of the crash to come forward.
