A 33-year-old man has been charged after allegedly making threats at a place of worship in Brisbane’s north on Sunday morning.
Police say the incident occurred around 10.46am on 10 May when the man attended a religious site on Telegraph Road, Bald Hills and allegedly made verbal threats before leaving the scene prior to police arrival.
No physical injuries were reported.
Following investigations, a 33-year-old Mitchelton man was later charged with creating a public nuisance and disturbing a place of worship. He is due to appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on 22 May.
Police confirmed there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
Authorities said the Queensland Police Service treats all threats against places of worship and cultural communities with seriousness, emphasising the importance of ensuring all residents feel safe and respected.
Police also encouraged anyone who feels threatened or experiences similar incidents to report them immediately.
The QPS said it remains committed to maintaining community safety and continuing engagement with Queensland’s diverse cultural and religious communities to strengthen trust and cooperation across the state.
