Helensvale Library Upgrade Nears Completion Ahead of May Reopening

The upgrade of the Helensvale Library and Cultural Centre is entering its final stages, with the refreshed community facility set to reopen on Tuesday, May 5.

The project, which began in September 2025, will deliver a more modern, accessible and welcoming space for residents, featuring new furniture, upgraded workstations, improved air conditioning, acoustic treatments and a full interior refresh.

Until the reopening, library services will continue operating from a temporary location at Westfield Helensvale. However, there will be a brief pause in services between April 30 and May 4 while the transition back to the main site takes place.

Council has advised that the upgrades are designed to enhance learning, creativity and community connection, ensuring the library meets the needs of a growing population.

The upgrades will include new furniture and workstations, acoustic wall treatment, a new air conditioning system, new carpet, external and internal painting.

Once complete, the revitalised centre is expected to provide an improved experience for visitors, with modern facilities supporting everything from study and work to community events and programs.
