Two local Logan City Council staff members have been recognised with a prestigious national resuscitation award for their life-saving actions. Aaron Sprigg and Mary Joy were honoured with the Australian Resuscitation Club Medalafter they helped save a man who went into cardiac arrest at the Mount Warren Sports and Fitness Centre last year.
Their quick thinking and skilled response drew praise from colleagues and community members alike, and the national recognition highlights not just individual heroism but the everyday impact that council workers have on the safety and wellbeing of Logan residents.
Mayor Jon Raven said the award is a reminder of the importance of first aid skills and community readiness in emergencies.
This story celebrates local dedication and the difference one moment can make in someone’s life, a powerful example of community care right here in Logan.
