A major upgrade at the intersection of Logan Reserve Road and School Road has been completed, improving safety and traffic flow for students, families and motorists.
Located beside Logan Reserve State School, the upgraded intersection is designed to make school drop-off and pick-up periods safer while reducing congestion and improving travel times.
The Logan City Council project was funded through the Australian Government’s Black Spot Program, which targets locations where crashes have occurred or where there is an increased risk of crashes.
The upgrade has introduced traffic signals to formalise when vehicles can stop, turn and proceed through the intersection. Four new signalised pedestrian crossings have also been installed, replacing the previous school crossing arrangements.
Other works included extending turning lanes on Logan Reserve Road, resurfacing sections of the road and updating line markings.
Council said the improvements would provide a safer and more accessible environment for drivers, pedestrians and students, while helping traffic move more efficiently through the area.
The project is part of ongoing efforts to improve road safety across Logan and address busy intersections around schools and growing residential communities.
Construction was completed in August, with the upgraded intersection now fully operational for motorists and pedestrians.
