Logan’s Cyclone Stories Set for the Stage

Stories of courage, community spirit and survival following Cyclone Alfred will take centre stage in Logan later this month through a unique live theatre event.

Logan City Council will host the special resilience showcase on May 21 at the Beenleigh Events Centre, where residents will be invited to share their personal experiences from the devastating weather event that impacted the region in early March 2025.

Those stories will then be brought to life through improvisational performances by the Red Threads Playback Theatre Troupe, creating a powerful community reflection on the challenges faced during and after the cyclone.

The free event aims to recognise the resilience of Logan residents and celebrate the efforts of volunteers, emergency workers, neighbours and community groups who helped keep people safe throughout the disaster.

Council says the event is also designed to encourage conversation around recovery, preparedness and the strength of local connections during times of crisis.

Afternoon tea will be provided. Bookings are essential and can be made at eventbrite.com.au/e/celebrate-logans-resilient-community-tickets-1985882034624

Residents unable to attend in person can still contribute by sharing their experiences online through Logan City Council’s community engagement platform, helping preserve local stories of resilience for future generations.
