A 26-year-old Biggera Waters man has been charged following an investigation into a series of alleged property offences across the northern Gold Coast.
Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch allege the offences occurred between April 22 and May 10 in Biggera Waters, Runaway Bay and Southport as part of ongoing investigations under Operation Forge, a statewide initiative targeting repeat offenders and property crime.
Police allege the offending began with break-ins and damage to vehicles at a Biggera Waters shopping centre before parcels and property were allegedly stolen from a residential complex the following day.
Investigators also allege the man forced entry into a Runaway Bay sports club, stealing cash, before targeting a Biggera Waters car wash business on multiple occasions. Significant damage was allegedly caused to the premises and several customer vehicles.
Police further allege a bowls club at Southport was later entered, with property including an iPad stolen.
Following a search warrant at a Biggera Waters property on May 11, officers allegedly located dangerous drugs, prescription medication, suspected stolen property and items linking the man to the offences.
The man faces multiple charges and is due to reappear in Southport Magistrates Court on May 28.
