Young children in Logan now have access to a needle-free flu vaccine as part of Logan City Council’s community immunisation program for the 2026 flu season.
The new nasal spray vaccine is available for children aged two to five years, offering a pain-free alternative to traditional injections. It will be offered at Council-run clinics across the city from March 1 through to September 30.
Council says the initiative aims to make vaccination more comfortable for young children while improving overall immunisation rates ahead of winter.
Free flu vaccinations are also available to all Queensland residents aged six months and older through the same community clinic network.
To meet expected demand, Council has increased nursing capacity at its clinics this year, helping to reduce wait times and improve access for families attending regular sessions.
Health officials encourage residents to take advantage of the program as flu season approaches, noting that vaccination remains one of the most effective ways to reduce serious illness and protect vulnerable members of the community.
