Redland City Council has announced the shortlisted finalists for the 2026 Australia Day Awards, recognising the individuals and community groups who make a lasting contribution to life across the Redlands Coast.
The annual awards celebrate local achievement, generosity and leadership, with categories including Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year and Community Organisation Award. Finalists reflect the strength and diversity of the region, representing volunteers, emerging young leaders and organisations that support community wellbeing, inclusion and connection.
Council representatives say the awards are an important opportunity to acknowledge those who consistently go above and beyond, often working quietly behind the scenes to support others and strengthen community ties.
Winners will be officially recognised at a special Australia Day presentation event in January, where residents are invited to come together to celebrate the people and groups who help make the Redlands Coast a vibrant, caring and connected place to live.
