Repair work on a damaged section of Steele Road in Logan Village is set to begin later this month, with motorists advised to expect temporary road closures and detours during construction.
The project will see approximately 180 metres of weather-damaged roadway excavated and completely reconstructed to improve safety and restore the road for local residents and road users.
To allow crews to carry out the works safely, part of Steele Road will be closed for the duration of the project. Signed detours will be in place to help motorists navigate around the construction zone and minimise disruptions.
The road repairs are being funded through the Commonwealth-State Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), which provides financial assistance for the restoration of infrastructure damaged by severe weather events.
Construction is expected to continue through to late September 2026, weather permitting.
Council is encouraging motorists to follow traffic management directions, allow extra travel time where necessary and take care when travelling near the work site.
The repairs form part of ongoing efforts to restore local infrastructure and improve the resilience of Logan’s road network following recent weather-related damage.
