Take a hike… for your health

Residents across Logan and the Scenic Rim are being encouraged to lace up their walking shoes and explore the region’s many nature trails, with health experts highlighting the physical and mental benefits of spending time outdoors.

Local parks and conservation areas offer accessible walking tracks suitable for all fitness levels, from peaceful bushland strolls to more challenging rainforest hikes. Popular options include the forest tracks at Daisy Hill Conservation Park, scenic rainforest walks around Tamborine Mountain and the tranquil bush trails of Venman Bushland National Park. Now that summer has wound down autumn has begun, it’s the perfect time to hop on the trails.

Health professionals say regular walking can improve cardiovascular health, reduce stress and boost overall wellbeing. Even a short daily walk in nature can help lower blood pressure, improve mood and support mental clarity. Walking with a friend or family member, or letting someone know your plans, is a simple way to stay safe on the trails.

The Scenic Rim also offers spectacular natural escapes, with walking tracks through ancient rainforest and waterfalls in areas such as Springbrook National Park attracting locals and visitors alike.

With cooler mornings and scenic landscapes on the doorstep, local trails provide an easy and affordable way for residents to stay active while enjoying some of South East Queensland’s most beautiful natural environments.
