Two people have been arrested after police tracked a stolen vehicle being driven dangerously across the Gold Coast on Friday night, August 14.
Police began tracking a grey Audi Q5 at about 6.40pm after it was allegedly observed being driven dangerously throughout the Gold Coast District. The vehicle had been reported stolen from a Biggera Waters residence on August 12.
During the pursuit at Oxenford, the Audi allegedly attempted to evade police, causing minor damage to two police vehicles.
Officers later successfully deployed a tyre deflation device at Nerang. The Audi was subsequently abandoned near Whiting Street in Labrador.
Specialist police arrested an 18-year-old man at a nearby residential address a short time later. A 16-year-old girl was also arrested at Hollywell.
Police said no officers or members of the public were physically injured during the incident.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the stolen vehicle and dangerous driving offences are continuing.
Police are appealing for anyone with relevant information to come forward.
