Construction on the new Loganlea railway station has ramped up, bringing commuters one step closer to a modern, accessible transport hub. The $173.8 million relocation project is part of the $5.75 billion Logan and Gold Coast Faster Rail program.
The station is being moved about 500 metres south, directly opposite Logan Hospital, to improve access to the health and education precinct. Works began with site setup in late 2024, with major construction underway since early 2025.
Recent developments include significant progress on the station building and Platform 1, along with the new park‑and‑ride facility and sections of the pedestrian overpass bridge. Construction crews are also preparing for the installation of dual lifts, a new bus stop, and around 400 parking spaces.
Logan residents will still be able to use the existing station while construction continues, with the upgraded facility on track to open in 2027.
Department of Transport and Main Roads officials say the project will create safer, more convenient connections for commuters, cyclists, and pedestrians, while enhancing accessibility to nearby hospitals, schools, and community services.
Mayor Jon Raven welcomed the progress, noting the station is “a vital investment in the city’s future, supporting our growing population and connecting residents to jobs, education, and health services.”
The project highlights ongoing efforts to modernise transport infrastructure across Logan and the wider Gold Coast region.
