Demolition Begins for Major Logan Olympic Sports Venue

Demolition has commenced at the former Logan PCYC site in Logan Central, marking a key step in the development of the new Logan Indoor Sports Centre, a landmark project tied to the upcoming 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games

The works clear the site for one of South East Queensland’s largest multi-purpose indoor arenas, designed with nine courts and seating for up to 7,000 spectators. Beyond the Olympics, the centre is intended to serve local schools, sporting clubs and community groups, promoting participation in ball sports, boxing, martial arts and para-sports year-round.

Jointly funded under the $7.1 billion Games Venues Infrastructure Program by the Australian and Queensland governments, the facility is expected to deliver a lasting legacy for Logan’s fast-growing community. Federal Treasurer and local MP Jim Chalmers described it as the “largest sporting infrastructure investment in Logan’s history.”

Construction timelines and final event allocations will be confirmed in the coming months as planning and approvals progress.
