Community-Led Health Boost: Logan’s $3M Wellbeing Initiative

A major health and wellbeing program supported by up to $3 million in funding is being rolled out across Logan to help local children and families live healthier lives. The FEEL GOOD FUTURES Logan initiative — the first of its kind in Australia — aims to improve access to nutritious food, increase physical activity and build lifelong healthy habits through community-led solutions co-designed with families, schools and local leaders.

The funding supports Logan Together, a local wellbeing alliance, to work with partners and residents over the next three years to deliver tailored activities that promote mental, physical and social health. Central to the program is making community hubs welcoming spaces for play, nutrition education and healthy lifestyle learning — especially for children, who are less likely to meet daily activity and fruit-and-vegetable consumption guidelines.

Leaders say the model could make a lasting difference in a fast-growing region where health challenges like obesity and food insecurity affect many families.
