A new exhibition celebrating fantasy, creativity and storytelling has opened at The Centre Beaudesert, showcasing the work of three talented Scenic Rim artists.
Enchanted Worlds, presented by Scenic Rim Regional Council, features paintings and ceramics by Maki Horanai, Lilly Piri and Fran Clancy. Running until September 5, the free exhibition invites visitors to explore whimsical landscapes, fairytale-inspired scenes and imaginative creations.
Community, Arts and Culture Portfolio Councillor Kerri Cryer said the exhibition highlights both the artists’ unique styles and the region’s thriving creative community.
“The collection by Lilly, Maki and Fran is an impressive celebration of imagination and visual storytelling,” Cr Cryer said, praising curator Irene Girsch-Danby and Council’s Cultural Services team for creating a magical exhibition experience.
Originally from Japan, Maki Horanai draws inspiration from nature, transforming familiar landscapes into dreamlike scenes. Tamborine Mountain artist Lilly Piri explores fairy tales through moonlit hares, unicorns and enchanted forests, inspired by childhood stories and time spent in Germany. Fellow Tamborine artist Fran Clancy makes her exhibition debut with playful ceramic works shaped by decades of experience working with clay.
Enchanted Worlds is open Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 4pm and Saturdays from 10am to 2pm, excluding public holidays, offering visitors a chance to experience the Scenic Rim’s flourishing arts scene.
