A 24-year-old Heritage Park man has been charged with 54 offences following an extensive police investigation into a series of alleged property crimes across the Gold Coast, Logan, Brisbane and Ipswich.
Detectives from the Gold Coast Criminal Investigation Branch launched the investigation as part of Operation Yankee Forge, a proactive policing initiative targeting high-harm and repeat property offenders throughout Queensland.
Police allege the man was involved in multiple offences during April and May, including break-ins, vehicle thefts and stealing incidents across South-East Queensland.
On June 4, officers from the Gold Coast CIB, assisted by the Ipswich Property Crime Unit and Ipswich Tactical Crime Squad, executed a search warrant at a Dinmore property. During the search, police allegedly seized stolen items, licence plates and a white Volkswagen Golf believed to be linked to the investigation.
The man was not at the residence at the time, prompting further inquiries. Police later identified him travelling in the Goodna area before tracking him to a Brassall address. It is alleged he attempted to flee on foot before being arrested during a coordinated operation.
The Heritage Park man has been charged with 29 counts of entering premises with intent to commit an indictable offence, 12 counts of entering premises and committing an indictable offence, three counts of unlawful use of a motor vehicle and nine counts of stealing.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to reappear in Ipswich Magistrates Court on July 6. Investigations are continuing.
