The western Scenic Rim is preparing to welcome food lovers from across the region as the second weekend of the 2026 Scenic Rim Eat Local Month delivers a packed program of farm experiences, tastings and country hospitality from 5 to 7 June.
Visitors to Boonah, Kalbar, Harrisville and Mount Alford can enjoy a range of paddock-to-plate experiences showcasing the region’s award-winning produce, wines and local businesses.
The weekend begins with vineyard experiences at Bunjurgen Estate Vineyard and Kooroomba Vineyard and Lavender Farm, where guests can enjoy wine tastings, local cheeses, handcrafted chocolates and creative workshops set against picturesque rural backdrops.
Saturday’s highlights include the Fermented Food Festival at Summer Land Camels, featuring demonstrations, expert talks, market stalls and tastings celebrating foods such as sourdough, kombucha and artisan cheeses. Visitors can also meet camels and sample the farm’s award-winning dairy products.
Families can head to Elderflower Farm for edible flower picking and cupcake decorating workshops, while Sunday offers the chance to harvest fresh vegetables alongside local farmers at Valley Pride Produce.
The weekend concludes with a long lunch at Fox Hill Grove, combining locally crafted cocktails, regional produce and scenic countryside views.
This year marks the 15th anniversary of Scenic Rim Eat Local Month, which has grown into Australia’s largest paddock-to-plate food and farming celebration, featuring 153 events throughout June. The festival will culminate with the Winter Harvest Festival in Kalbar on 27 June.
