Road Upgrades Underway in Runaway Bay

Gold Coast City Council has begun a significant $4.16 million road and footpath upgrade project in Runaway Bay, aimed at improving local traffic flow and community safety. The works, covering Lae Drive and Bayview Street, include resurfacing, drainage improvements, and upgraded access points for vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians.

Council has stated that these upgrades will not only enhance traffic efficiency but also improve the overall safety and accessibility of the area. The project is part of the Council’s broader commitment to maintaining and modernising the city’s transport network, particularly in rapidly growing northern suburbs.

Residents are advised to expect temporary lane closures and minor traffic disruptions during construction, which will be managed carefully to minimise impact on the community. The Council encourages locals to plan ahead and follow updated traffic advice while works are underway. Completion is expected in the coming months, delivering safer, smoother roads for everyone in Runaway Bay.
