The Crisafulli Government has expanded and made permanent its Youth Co-Responder Teams, strengthening efforts to reduce youth crime and support at-risk young people across the state.
The initiative, delivered in partnership with the Queensland Police Service and youth justice agencies, will now operate across all 15 police districts. The teams have been enhanced with the addition of school support and child safety officers to improve early intervention and information sharing.
Designed to address repeat offending, the teams work closely with young people and their families to encourage compliance with bail conditions, re-engagement in education and stronger community connections.
A $153.67 million investment underpins the program, which aims to provide both enforcement and support to help break the cycle of youth offending.
The expansion reflects a broader focus on community safety, early intervention and coordinated responses to youth crime across Queensland.
