New School Crossings Boost Safety for Queensland Students

The Crisafulli Government is expanding its School Crossing Supervisor Scheme to improve safety for students travelling to and from school across the state.

New crossings have opened at Ascot State School and St John’s Catholic Primary School, with additional sites in Toowoomba, Rockhampton and Mudgeeraba, including Kings Christian College, set to be completed by the end of May.

The rollout will see 37 new supervisors across 33 schools, contributing to a network of more than 1,400 crossings supported by over 2,100 trained supervisors statewide.

Transport Minister Brent Mickelberg said the initiative aims to make school commutes safer and less stressful for families.

Delivered in partnership with councils and school communities, the program focuses on reducing risks at busy crossings and improving road safety awareness in school zones.
